Philip Kafka grew up in Dallas Texas. He enjoys boxing because, as he puts it, it is physical chess with high stakes; according to Philip, boxing is a "Dummies Guide to Life" and one of the best ways to build character. His love for boxing is proven with his drive, determination as he focuses on becoming a better boxer and person. Philip is an energetic go getter; a problem solver who never takes "NO" for an answer. Philip reaps the benefits of hard work as a leader in New York City’s advertising and billboard market as he successfully runs New York's Boutique billboard company. During his journey, he tries not to lose sight of how simple life really is: everything is possible with a lot of hard work and a little creativity. Philip is energetic, positive and skeptical as he seeks opportunities all over the country; he cautiously and excitedly analyzes each experience, pivots (when the path isn't direct), and secures his bearings before attacking, both inside the ring and out. Adversity has not played a specific role in his life, however Philip recognizes the importance of charity as he gives back to others, subscribing to a full life of philanthropy as he supports others and causes, ultimately experiencing the real gift of winning. His heroes are the hard working people of the world who often go unrecognized. Philip resides in New York City. His nickname, El Mexicano, comes from his trainer, Salvador at Mendez Gym; Philip speaks fluent spanish, works out to salsa music, but doesn't have a drop of (natural) hispanic blood in his body.
