As you know, the Philippines recently experienced one of the most powerful storms ever recorded on land (winds up the 200 mph). Thousands are dead, though the exact death toll will most likely never be known. Due to the destruction, millions of people have been displaced from their homes, and blocked roads, destroyed infrastructure and downed communication lines are giving aid groups like the Red Cross a seemingly impossible task. The Red Cross is currently leading the response effort by providing medical care, building tent cities, search and rescue services, sanitation, clean water and food distribution, family tracking, and reestablishing telecommunications. They rely on volunteers and donations to provide these services. Please take a moment to be a hero and give what you feel is right. I cannot fathom the suffering and destruction brought on by this storm. Remember, "Not for ourselves alone are we born."
