BENEFITING: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PARTNERSHIP OF ARIZONA
EVENT DATE: Mar 03, 2012
I am participating in my first 10K event on March 3, 2012 during the Phoenix Marathon. I am rasing money to support my roommates new non-profit organization UNCHAINED. UNCHAINED is a sponsored project of the Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona.
The mission of Unchained is to unite and empower communities through experiential learning to instill change and abolish domestic sex trafficking.
Many times when we hear the word sex trafficking we tend to think of something that is happening in third world countries. The fact is US children as young as 11 and 12 years old are falling victim to domestic sex trafficking. It is estimated that upto 300,000 US children are at risk of falling victim of trafficking.
UNCHAINED is bringing awareness to this issue by traveling the country and speaking at colleges and universities to educate students, providing training for service providers to learn how to identify victims and understand appropriate services for victims. UNCHAINED also has a three year plan to open and juvenile rehabilitation program for victims of trafficking.
Please support me by making a charitable contribution to UNCHAINED as I embark on my first 6.2 mile run. My goal is to raise $620.00 to represent the 6.2 miles I will be running.
Thanks in advance for your support!!!
