MY name is Beatrice Boggs. My sister, Phyllis Roberts had colon cancer in 2014. part of the colon was removed. She has now been told the cancer is back: this time her rectum will have to be removed. The doctors are setting up a scheduled surgery day for this procedure. She and her husband draw disability. Phyllis can't get food stamps because she and her spouse draw $8.00 to much each month. They cannot get Medicaid because together they draw $6.00 too much. Phyllis had insurance to help but the company canceled the coverage with no notice. When her rectum is removed, Phyllis will wear a bag for the rest of her life. With that going on, she surely does not need to worry about where their food will come and how to pay for all of the medications she and her husband have to take. Her husband, Jeff, is a diabetic and has neuropathy. He also has heart and lung problems. Phyllis is also on several medications. One of those is morphine to control the pain the rectum tumor is causing. Please open your heart to this family and try to imagine yourself in this situation. I've been in their home many times and i seen the cabinets empty and the worried look on each of their faces. There are no small donations. Every penny received won't be wasted. Ask God what He would have you do. Thank you in advance for reading our family story. Perhaps you could share this story with another person who has cancer so they will know, they are not alone and that God does care. GOD BLESS YOU Beatrice Boggs
