EVENT DATE Sep 01, 2016
I am a third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at the University of Washington and the Vice President of Global Rehabilitation Organization at Washington (GROW). Through this nationally recognized global health organization I have been accepted for a 3-week service trip in rural Zimbabawe!
What will we be doing? We will spend 3 weeks in Karoi, a rural town in Northeast Zimbabwe, working in collaboration with the Chidamoyo Christian Hospital. Our service will include stroke and cerebral palsy clinics as well as visits to surrounding communities to perform early-intervention pediatric screens. We will also be consulting the hospital regarding the layout of their new rehabilitation facility.
Who else is going? My classmate Anne Ziegletrum and our clinical instructor Kendra Paker D.P.T..
