As many of you are aware, September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month.
At the beginning of September, Hamilton's Varsity Field Hockey team added a new player to our roster through an organization called Team Impact- 12 year old, Sophia Johnson #88 from Newport, NY! Even though she is currently fighting to keep Medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, at bay, Sophia never leaves her smile at home when she comes to support our team at games. Sophia is an INSPIRATION to our team and is the epitome of a FIGHTER.
In honor of Sophia's unwavering spirit, Hamilton's Field Hockey and Men's Soccer teams are hosting a pie throwing contest in front of Steuben Field on October 11, 2014 at 2:30pm. Participants will have the chance to throw whip-cream pies in our face for a minimum donation of $1 per pie!
This fundraiser is our way of showing Sophia how proud we are of her for staying strong throughout her fight against cancer and how much her smile makes our day that much better every time we see her. This cause means everything to our teams and we hope that PIES FOR SOPHIA will help spread awareness about childhood cancer. WE LOVE YOU SOPHIA!!!
