We need to expand our "piggery" and goat herd for sustaining farm-based education programs for underprivileged youth in Gulu, Uganda. We sell piglets (Camborough and Large White) to local farmers for $40 each. This supports us financially and enables them a new income source. We loan local community members male goats (Boer) to improve their small local breed and increase their assets and means by which they can pay for children's school fees. This fundraiser enables us to buy seven mature female pigs ($1,200) and ten goats ($600), transport (estimated $150) them to our farm/education center, and feed them well ($200 for clearing, plowing and planting four acres of maize). By donating towards pigs and goats you will help us increase our means of making money with which to provide educational programs for children and their families while affording them a sustainable means of livelihood and ways in which to provide for themselves. Every two weeks we teach fifty children ages 8-18 farm-based entrepreneurship classes where theory meets practice. We also train the children's parents and host Gulu University interns from the Department of Agriculture.
