The Lynchburg College Partners In Health Engage Team is very excited to participate in raising funds to expand access to maternal and child health care at Pleebo Health Center in Liberia.
After the Ebola epidemic stuck in Liberia, heath care went from horrible to almost unimaginable. Today, over 1000 women out of 100,000 die in childbirth in Liberia, compared that to 28 out of 100,000 in the United States.
By funding operating costs of a new maternity ward and building strong health systems, we aim to double the Pleebo’s health center's capacity for safe deliveries, and therefore REDUCE MATERNAL AND CHILD DEATHS.
Our goal is $5,000.
