Hi! I am raising funds, with Partners in Health, to expand access to maternal and child health care at Pleebo Health Center, which serves a population of 160,000 in Maryland County, Liberia. By funding operating costs of a new maternity ward and building strong health systems, we aim to double the health center's capacity for safe deliveries.
The deadly Ebola outbreak in 2014 wreaked havoc on the already fragile health system in Liberia. Years of hard-won progress in maternal and child health gone. Today, Liberia’s maternal mortality rate has increased to 1,072 deaths per 100,000 live births -- one of the highest in the world
When Partners In Health arrived at Pleebo Health Center in 2014, we made a promise to the community that we would bring first-class health care to the mothers and children of Liberia. Now it is time to deliver on that promise.
Mothers cannot wait for safe births. Children cannot wait for quality care. Every child deserves to celebrate their fifth birthday. Every mother deserves to celebrate her child’s future achievements. Every father deserves to walk his child down the aisle. Join me and We Will Deliver our promise together to bring top-quality health care to our Liberian community.
