I am working on getting my pilots license. I have always been interested in flying and airplanes. I already have about 5 hours right now and trying to get more. It is very expensive to get lessons and the license (about $6,000 to 11,000 plus some other fees). After college I plan ongoing into the U.S Air Force or the U.S Marine Corps and flying. I will use the money raised on equipment I need for the lessons. I will need a aviation headset, an iPad, and subscriptions to certain flying apps. I am also involved with a flying club at my local airport. We help do jobs at the airport, such as cleaning planes, volunteering at the air museum located there. We also are working on converting a Boeing 727 into a classroom for other students. We are going to volunteer at Sun N Fun (air show and fly in) at the airport. I am applying for a scholarship to get my pilots license but I will still need to buy the other equipment on my own; the scholarship only pays for lessons. I will use the funds raised to buy a good aviation headset, an iPad, pay for app subscriptions, charts, pay for test fees, pay for medical exam fees and other small things.
