BENEFITING: Pine Street Inn
ORGANIZER: Pine Street Inn
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Sue and I have been admirers of the tremendous work and staff at Pine Street Inn since our wonderful friend, Lyndia Downie, first started working there 30 years ago. In addition to its better known role in providing emergency shelter, food, clothing, and health and case management services to more than 700 homeless guests each night, Pine Street has been an advocate, innovator, and national leader in strategies and programs to actually end homelessness. For instance, it has been a leader in providing permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless, with on-site support staff, job training, and job placement; it currently operates 37 permanent residences with 850 tenants throughout Boston. Pine Street has transformed – and, in many cases, literally saved – the lives of thousands of people through its outreach, housing, and training programs. Please visit its web site (www.pinestreetinn.org) to learn more about the Pine Street team's inspirational work.
When I decided to run my first marathon in support of a charity, Pine Street was my immediate choice. This has obviously been an incredibly harsh winter, and Pine Street can particularly use our support now. Sue and I hope that you will join us in supporting the inspirational team and all of the tremendous programs at Pine Street Inn, working to end homelessness!

Join the Race to Ending Homelessness!
Pine Street Inn serves more than 1,600 people every day, including more than 850 formerly homeless men and women who live in our permanent supportive housing.
Your generosity helps provide the basic necessities that many people take for granted: a bed, a nutritious meal, a hot shower, as well as services and support that are helping people rebuild their lives and find "home" again.
Team Pine Street’s runners have committed to raise a minimum of $5,000 and share their commitment to ending homelessness.
We hope you will join us in supporting their efforts!
