Did someone help you have a great childhood when you were young – a parent, sibling, teacher or coach? Do you help children in your life today have a great childhood – your own kids, nephews or nieces, children you mentor or babysit?
Celebrate the lives you touch and those who have touched yours by honoring them with a pinwheel – the national symbol for the great childhoods all children deserve because our children are our future!
We’ll recognize all commitments on a special virtual pinwheel map of the U.S.!

Why Prevention Matters
All children deserve a great childhood because our children are our future. Research shows that children raised in loving and supportive environments are more academically and financially successful and demonstrate greater emotional health. Conversely, adverse experiences encountered during childhood can lead to mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or education or employment challenges later in life, and financially, when child abuse is not prevented, the cost to the nation is $80 billion annually.
About Prevent Child Abuse America
Prevent Child Abuse America is the national champion of great childhoods for all children. Founded in 1972 in Chicago, Prevent Child Abuse America works to promote the healthy development of children and prevent child abuse before it can occur in the first place. We have a chapter in all 50 states and help nearly 100,000 families every year through our Healthy Families America program in nearly 600 communities nationwide.
