Elizabeth Bina wrote -University of Pittsburgh recipients of the Stamps Scholarship are participating in the first Stamps National Day of Service to help the community and develop their leadership skills. Stamps Scholars at 18 college and university campuses across the country selected local organizations to support by volunteering, most of them on April 16, 2016. Scholars at the University of Pittsburgh will assist the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank with their Produce to People Distribution. Food insecurity is a huge problem in the community, and Pitt Scholars want to do their part to ensure the availability of healthy and affordable foods. In addition to the hands-on service on April 16, Scholars will be running a virtual food drive during the week leading up to the Day of Service. Each dollar donated can help the Food Bank make five healthy meals for those in need. Please consider donating to our Food Drive! We appreciate each and every contribution. Hail to Pitt!
