The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy improves quality of life for the people of Pittsburgh by restoring the park system to excellence in partnership with government and the community. Projects and programs are conducted with respect for the environment, historic design, and the needs of our diverse region. Parks Conservancy works to restore the city's four regional parks: Frick, Highland, Riverview, and Schenley, and has expanded into community and neighborhood parks throughout Pittsburgh.
The dollars you raise as a fundraiser through the Pittsburgh Marathon go towards our volunteering programs, which allows our amazing volunteers to do great work in our public green spaces. We encourage you to learn more, fundraise and join us!
In 2014, our volunteers turned out in record-breaking numbers. Nearly 2,000 volunteers donated more than 6,500 hours. The planted hundreds of trees, thousands of flowers and removed countless bags of invasive species. They stablized hillsides, removed litter and cleared trails. Our volunteers plant only native plants and trees resistant to current threats in the parks in order to promote biodiversity and healthy tree canopy.
