BENEFITING: PKD Foundation
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a hereditary kidney disease that affects approximately 12.5 million people worldwide including 600,000 Americans. I was just diagnosed in April 2017. My dad, brother and an uncle each had PKD. The possibility of receiving this diagnosis has been in the back of my mind for decades. I waited until I was 43 to find out if I have it. Now that I know, I want to make a positive impact, remembering those who have suffered before me and those who will suffer after me. My entire life I have been playing soccer. Some of my closest friends and I will play a 12 hour soccer marathon, with a few penalty kicks in there (hence the name PKs for PKD). This fundraiser will bring awareness to this disease and the incredible work that the PKD Foundation does, which is the only organization that focuses its efforts solely on finding a cure for PKD. Our team is dedicated to raising $10,000.00 for the PKD Foundation. Your contribution will help find a cure! Thank you.
