EVENT DATE: Jun 09, 2013
Everyone wins when we do a Playathon! To encourage a commitment to practicing and to help raise funds for scholarships and our upcoming relocation, we invite students and ensembles to participate in our Suzuki Playathon in June 2013.
Along with their teachers, students choose 1-3 pieces to practice during the period from May 30 – June 8. Students then collect donations from sponsors. Finally, students perform in the Playathon Recital on June 9 at the Natick Mall. Every participant will earn a special Playathon pin, and there will be a grand prize for the student with the most sponsors!
To help you participate in the Playathon, here are a few guidelines.
1. Submit an Entry Form to the office before May 11.
2. Fill out the Pledge Form with your teacher.
3. Things to tell your sponsors:
a. You are raising money to benefit the Suzuki School of Newton.
b. You’ll practice your pieces every day from May 30 to June 8.
c. Tell them about your Suzuki School. Talk about group classes, musicianship, concerts outside and at the school, and what playing your instrument means to you.
4. Bring your pledge form and donations to the Playathon Recital on June 9th at the Natick Mall. Group classes and chamber ensembles may also participate! Ask your teacher for details.
Remember, everyone earns a special pin, and there is a grand prize for the student with the most sponsors!
