Playground to Rain Garden, Peterson Lane Park, Vienna VA
Organized by: Christopher Graham
EVENT DATE May 01, 2014
My name is Christopher J. Graham. I am a Life Scout with BSA Troop 1257, Oak Hill, Virginia, working on behalf of citizens of the Town of Vienna my Eagle Scout Project is to transform a vacant playground into a rain garden including repairing an existing park bench. The rain garden will beautify this much loved green space and improve rainwater runoff by limiting erosion. In order to complete the project must raise a minimum of $500 to pay for soil, gravel, mulch and plants.
Located off Malcolm Road NW and within walking distance to Louise Archer Elementary School, Flint Hill Elemenatry School and James Madison High School, Peterson Lane Park is a great neighborhood activity center. Equipped with both walking trails and parking lot this park is great for some pick-up basketball, soccer or for letting the kids wear themselves out on the playground.
