Please help us move to AZ so Steven can finish his education
Organized by: Tricia Martin
Hello, my name is Tricia Martin, and I'm trying to help Steven Turner to continue his education. He met me while attending college at Fairmont State University in West Virginia. He was studying for National Security and Intelligence and I was studying Early Childhood. Steven and I have been together for 7 years now. He has been there, by my side, supporting me through everything. I am very thankful to have him as a part of my life. Steven has just graduated from the Universal Technical Institute. While attending school, we never thought he would need more advanced training. As his graduation drew closer, he realized he would need more advanced training to further his education and accelerate his career as a Diesel Technician. Steven is continuing his training at the UTI in Avondale, Arizona, where he will be taking three MSATs (Manufacturer Specific Advanced Training), Ford FACT, Cummins Engines, and Cummins Power Generation. For a while, he has struggled finding his career path. Steven took it upon himself to follow in his father's footsteps, who was a Diesel Mechanic in the Army. His father, Roger Clinton Turner Jr., passed away February 1st, 2004, on Super Bowl Sunday. His dad was a artistic funny guy who loved Coca Cola, Bugs Bunny, Gameboy and comics. His passing was very traumatic for him at the age of 14. Steven internalized all his pain and developed Ulcerative Colitis, a form of IBS(Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Dealing with Ulcerative Colitis is a daily struggle for him, but it doesn't dissuade him from his education. If you would like more information about Steven's father, I provided the link for you: http://thefallen.militarytimes.com/army-staff-sgt-roger-c-turner-jr/257029 Steven is able to attend school thanks to the Fry Scholarship, which is a Scholarship that allows children and surviving spouses of the servicemen to use the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Fry Scholarship is enough to pay for his education and monthly bills. The Fry Scholarship isn't enough to help with the moving costs. Moving from Texas to Arizona requires more money than we expected. Our lease ends here on July 7th. We have searched for apartments online and called a few places. Some have openings way past our move-out deadline. We have yet to lock down an apartment in Arizona. We can't extend our stay in our current apartment because it's already leased out to new tenants. We could use the funding to help us stay in a hotel in Arizona until we find an apartment there. The money will also help pay for gas, to feed us, to pay for the U haul to hold our belongings, and pay for moving helpers. He will need help moving the really heavy stuff. Any funding received by our move-out date would be greatly appreciated, and it will help Steven to continue follow in his father's footsteps. We need all the help we can get! Thank you for your time and God bless!
