BENEFITING: Starfish Greathearts Foundation
On June 4, 2017 I will participating in the Comrades Marathon in South Africa, running uphill for 54.68 miles. The Comrades Marathon is the world largest , oldest ultra marathon and a very tough race. The incline, the warm temperature and the cut off time of 12 hours makes the race a very challenging. I'm dedicating my training to give back to the children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS in South Africa. I'm fund raising for Starfish; they bring life, hope and opportunity to these children by identifying the best community based organizations and partnering with them to ensure the highest quality care. To train for the Comrades, I will be running one marathon a month starting in Miami (FL) in January running the Miami ING; A1A in Fort Lauderdale (FL) in February,Napa Valley Marathon (CA) in March, and my first ultra marathon in April (NY). As you can see there are many steps along the way to get to the Comrades Marathon, that it is fitting that I choose to run with passion and excitement knowing that ever mile In my training is for the children suffering with AIDS in South Africa. Let's help one child one step at a time. Together even the smallest donation will make a huge impact on these children's lives. Many of which can not attend school, don't have food, clothes, shelter and are in desperate need of medical care. I thank everyone in advance for your help and gracious donations.
