Please help save Geraldine's home from Foreclosure.
Organized by: Greg Coup
Hello Everyone. My mother is in danger of losing her home. Her home is in the process of being foreclosed on and I am trying to do everything I can to save her home.
My mother has worked very hard here entire life and has endured many hardships throughout her life. That being stated, she has always stayed positive through it all. My mother had the home built in the early 1990’s and have lived in the home this entire time. I remember those days being the happiest time of her life given that not many of her other aspirations came to fruition. Being a single parent of three, my mother felt that being able to purchase a home for herself and her children was a blessing. Even during the hard times, she was always happy to be able to come back to the home she owned. Well, fast forwarding to the present day, her home is at risk of being taken from her.
My mother was disabled due to suffering a stroke after receiving emergency triple by-pass heart surgery. A loose particulate from the surgery traveled to the brain causing the stroke. She was working right up until she was rushed to the hospital for chest pains and then airlifted to the hospital. The stroke rendered her disabled and unable to work. She lost mobility and usability of the entire right side of her body and was unable to speak (she was mute). She was temporarily placed into an assisted living facility while she received physical and mental therapy.
Due to her being disabled, she is unable to drive, work, and/or manage the daily chores of life without the help of another. An in-home nurse is required to assist her with everyday chores and other life matters (like taking medications). Initially, the nurse was only needed part-time, but as time passed and her health condition worsening (early stages of dementia.), she is now required to have a full-time nurse in her home.
While she is receiving some disability benefits, she has been having difficulty maintaining all responsibilities of the home.
I would love for her to be able to stay in the home that she has worked her entire life for. I am afraid that she is going to lose her home leaving her homeless. My mother’s home mortgage, including all types of outlandish fees and interest, is in the rears approximately $3,500.00. We both would be completely and absolutely grateful for any assistance given in helping my mother keep her home. My mother worked so hard for the house which she considers to be one of her only accomplishments in life and I do not want to see her lose it. Thank you for taking the time to read this summary and words cannot express enough our thanks to those whom are able to assist her in her effort to keep her home.
