September is National Suicide Prevention Month. I lost my mother, Fran, to suicide in 1967, and lost my sister, Karen, to suicide in 2007. Per CDC, the numbers of middle age suicides are on the rise. After searching the web, I found little or no help specifically for those who are middle-aged and contemplating suicide, or for those who care about someone who is. So I decided to do something about it. I have reserved and want to create a website called PleaseStay.org, which will focus on the specific issues and challenges faced by middle aged men and women. It will provide resource links, education, and testimonials of those who have decided to stay, as well as those who were left behind by the devastation of suicide. The funding will allow me to tap into resources for web design, professonal advice, filming of testimonials, publicity, and the costs of creating a 501(c)(3). Thank you for your consideration. Let's change the numbers.
