The Pledge for Pins is designed to help the families and kids at Blank Children’s Hospital. Child Life is a program at Blank’s that supports families and children through helping hospitalized children have fun and not worry about the diagnosis they are facing. All of the money raised through Pledge for Pins is donated to the Child Life program which allows them to buy toys for play rooms, better ways to explain to kids what they're facing, and supplies for birthdays and holidays. Child Life is funded only on donations. Child Life’s ultimate goals are to make hospitalized children comfortable and to make their time spent in the hospital as much like home as possible. Any pin made by a Varsity Waukee High School Wrestler during the 2016-2017 season counts towards your Pledge for Pins amount. Dual meets, tournaments, districts, and the Iowa State Tournament count toward your Pledge for Pins amount. Any amount pledged helps. Anything from one cent to ten dollars per pin helps. For example, if you pledge $2.00 per pin and the Warrior Wrestlers accumulate 100 pins on the season, your pledge is $200. The total pins for the Warriors in 2014-2015 were 155 pins. The Waukee High School Wrestling Coaching Staff tracks the pins and your pledge amount. When the season ends, Jakob calculates your pledge balance and sends you a email letting you know how much to donate. This is only the second year of this program so if there are any questions or concerns please contact Jakob Allison at email@example.com.
