BENEFITING: ADAMS STREET FOUNDATION INC
For those of you that don’t know, I’ve recently joined the Junior Board of the Urban Assembly School of Law & Justice (SLJ). SLJ is a high school in Brooklyn which focuses on legal studies and debate. SLJ is premised on the concept that the skills necessary to practice law should be taught at the high school level to better prepare its graduates for college. Currently 90% of SLJ’s graduates go onto college with most of the student body coming from low income families.
This year SLJ is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and looks forward to continuing to send our scholars to college. In order to do this, we need your support for our NEXT 1,000 Scholars Campaign.
The money raised goes to providing the students of SLJ with a spectrum of focused services like: academic support programs, internships, mentorships, on- and off-site extracurricular activities, pre-college summer programs, trips and guest speakers, community service opportunities, an early college awareness curriculum, and differentiated college and career advising.
