BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Sep 13, 2015
Yesterday the sky here is Stockton CA was overcast and muggy, not really humid but just blah. You could tell there were fires in the air, not necessarily close by but here it shows even when they are over an hour away. So when I woke up this morning I wanted to go for a walk. I went out the back door to catch my husband to get a kiss. He showed me some shelving he made a couple days ago. They were sitting outside where he had last painted them and they were covered with a layer of grey dust-ash. Now I have seen this before, living in this area for over 20 yrs. But today it moved me. I, personally am not affected by the fires but my brothers and sisters respectively are and this gray dust is proof. When I got back from my walk I wrote a poem in the hopes of somehow assisting our neighbors here in Northern California that are affected by the fires of 2015. My poem is titled "ASH" and is an original work I created today 9/13/15. My goal is to take action and positively affect those around us and be mindful of others needs.
