On Sept. 5, 2014 a family was illegally evicted from their home without a court order. Police allowed this family's belongings including furniture, appliances, clothing, jewelry, electronics, personal documents, internet and cable boxes, and heirlooms to be taken by a woman claiming to own the house they were living in. There was no court order or even papers shown that this woman even owned the house. Now the woman claims she destroyed their property immediately. The only reason this woman was allowed to do this is because she has a friend who is a police officer. This police officer chose to ignore the law and allow his friend to break the law.
Glorious Homes would like to help this family and others in similar situations. We need everyone's help:
Money is needed for legal services. Free legal aid is not available because the woman who took possessions was a client previously involving the same house. Therefore there was a conflict of interest. Money is also needed to provide temporary housing for this family and others in need of emergency housing.
Here is a statement by one of the family members:
"We are struggling to survive but we are trying to move forward and reunite as a family. We are raising money to pay an attorney in an attempt to obtain punitive damages so that the police will not be able to do this to anyone else, also to recover our property and or its value. We have found a house that we can purchase and fix up ourselves. Money has been provided to purchase the house but money is still needed to prepare the home for our family's reunion."
