POLYTECH Lacrosse's For Our Heroes 5K
Organized by: POLYTECH Lacrosse
EVENT DATE Mar 19, 2016
POLYTECH Lacrosse's For Our Heroes 5K is a 5K event to benefit patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, and related research. ALS is an invariably fatal neurodegenerative disease, meaning that deterioration of motor neurons leads to loss of motor function and eventual death. Most patients die within two to five years of diagnosis, though there is hope of extending life!
My grandmother passed away from the disease in March 2015, I, along with the rest of POLYTECH Lacrosse, hope this event will raise money in hopes of one day finding a better cure or treatments to improve the outlook for patients with ALS.
Get on your feet and come join us at POLYTECH High School on Saturday, March 19th at 9 a.m. for a 5K run/walk and a day of fun! All proceeds will go to The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
