Help The Children of The World
Organized by: Lena Marie
I would like to travel to Bangkok, Thailand to help their children learn English, and to spread some love and kindness. I would be teaching children of all ages and, providing invaluable education services. Improving the confidence and language skills of the students and teachers learning English has a long-lasting effect on their employment opportunities and ability to teach others.
Although it is an industrialized and developing area, its residents experience extreme disparities in basic social services. Many young people from around the country relocate to these neighborhoods in search of opportunities for employment and a better life, however, this pattern of migration strains the city’s already scant resources.
Overcrowding is an underlying issue that impacts almost every aspect of life in Bangkok – from living conditions and healthcare, to constant heavy traffic and pollution. Social problems such as overcrowding, disparity of wealth and opportunity, and disenfranchisement can all be addressed, at least partially, through education and for this reason, many of our partner organizations are located in some respect in the education sector. In addition to the support and energy that CCS volunteers bring to our partners organizations, volunteers also provide an incredibly valuable service by teaching English. As the official language of the internet, learning English is an incredibly effective way increase employment opportunities for residents in the local community.
