Conor Fitzgerald wrote -The grandchildren of Edwin McNaboe are running and raising money in the memory of their grandfather Edwin "Popa" McNaboe to honor all the victims of 9/11/2001. Popa past away this past thanksgiving and will be watching over us from heaven as we participate in the tunnel to towers event in New York City. Popa was a New Yorker through and through, his favorite drink being a "Manhattan". He was born in Brooklyn, NY where he met the love of his life Helen "Moma". They moved to Long Island where they lived for the rest of their lives. Popa had a long career with Maersk Shipping working in their World Trade Center Offices. He routinely walked across the Brooklyn Bridge from the World Trade Center to get home after work. Additionally Popa's father worked as a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department. Popa loved America and he loved New York. Popa believed in a great deal of charity and generosity and has left a donation to be added towards this fundraiser. We love the work that Tunnel to Towers does and we are very proud that Popa's legacy will be helping Veterans, first responders, and other American heroes.
