THE STORY:

http://portlandjuniorscientists.org/

Portland Junior Scientists is an after school science program for underprivileged students that was started and lead by local high school students. We currently run a program at Portland After School Tennis and Education (PAST&E) that we have lead for over a year. We also put on a summer camp for over seventy kids at the Beaverton Police Activities League  in July of 2012. We are currently in contact with multiple local Title 1 schools that are interested in hosting our program for their students. Many schools do not have the budget to provide adequate hands-on science investigations for their students. We have enough volunteers to branch out and meet the need in our community , but we currently lack sufficient funds. Please support us by donating to help us reach out to students in need. The money would go towards supplies and scientific equipment needed for lessons as well as classroom necessities (notebooks, pencils, safety goggles and aprons, white boards, etc).
