Thank you for visiting my page for the Harlem River Classic! As most of you know, rowing is a big part of my life and helped shape who I am today. It taught me the value of teamwork, dedication and hardwork. It's a great sport and I'm so happy to be involved with the Row New York organization as it promotes rowing to under-resourced communities (free of charge!) at the middle school and high school levels while also providing academic tutoring & college prep for students.
99% of the graduates of RNY's competitive team have gone on to college, with the majority of the graduates earning athletic scholarships.
On May 16th, I will once again get back in a boat to compete in the Harlem River Classic (it's been 3 years since my last boat race!). The Harlem River Classic is an event that brings together rowers to support Row New York through a friendly competition in the form of a 1,000 meter sprint. All of the proceeds of this event will directly support RNY's youth programs which empower young people from New York City’s under-resourced communities to build strength, gain confidence and pursue excellence through the sport of rowing.
