DUNLAP -- Art students from Concord High School set out to again raise at least $20,000 for Riley Hospital for Children. They met their goal, and then some.

My name is Casey Stover. And I am participating in my high schools annual Potters Marathon to benefit Riley's Children's Hospital here in Indiana. I am collecting pledges/donations for the marathon. My goal is $1000 so that I can stay and participate for the full marathon time. As a sophomore, the all night spots are reserved for upperclassmen, unless I can raise $1000.

Below I have inserted an article from the Elkhart Truth, which will help describe our goals a lot better then I can. :)

Concord Superintendent George Dyer reported to the Concord School Board that the 12th annual potter's marathon raised roughly $25,000. More than 70 students participated in the marathon, 30 of whom spent 24 hours creating pottery that will be put on sale prior to Christmas break.

Around 400 items were created during the marathon, and ultimately fired in the kiln. Bob Bieber, chair of Concord's art department, said the items, typically purchased by Concord students and staff, are generally gone within a week or two.

The marathon has raised more than $100,000 for Riley's Children's Hospital.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and possibly donating to our Potters Marathon and my goal of $1000.
