UPDATE: Thank you for all the support! We crushed our goal, raising $80,179 for South Bronx and immigrant youth programs through the #POWEROF11! If you still would like to contribute, you can Donate on South Bronx United's Website.
11 days. Donations of $11 or greater. Raising $70,000 for South Bronx and immigrant youth!
Every dollar you donate will be MATCHED dollar for dollar!
11 student-athletes working together on the soccer field. 11 seats in the classroom. 11 mentors for at-risk youth. A team of youth from more than 11 different nationalities. This is the #POWEROF11.
Join South Bronx United for the first #POWEROF11, our biggest annual campaign ever! Starting on International Children’s Day on June 1 through June 11, hundreds of grassroots supporters will join SBU and our Team Captains for a movement to empower immigrant youth and families through soccer, education, mentoring, and more.
And, we have a matching gift challenge. Thanks to the generous support of the William E. Simon Foundation and a group of anonymous donors, every donation in the #POWEROF11 campaign will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000! If we meet our goal, this will mean $70,000 for SBU programs—but we must get there by June 11th!
SAVE THE DATE
Join SBU Team Captains and supporters for the #POWEROF11 Campaign Closing and USA Watch Party on Sunday, June 11, 7:30pm - 10:30pm at Dewey's Pub (135 W 30th Street New York, NY 10001)! We will be watching the USA Men's National Team face Mexico in World Cup Qualifying.
ABOUT SOUTH BRONX UNITED
South Bronx United serves more than 1,000 boys and girls each year by combining soccer with academic enrichment and tutoring, college prep, mentoring, immigrant legal services, and more. Within the SBU Academy program, nearly all students are from immigrant families and more than one-third were born in another country. Most will become the first in their families to go to college. Within the past five years, 100% of seniors in the SBU Academy program have graduated high school and 94% have enrolled in college.
