(The King's Academy will give all funds collected directly to Anne Spell to defray the Spell Family's expenses for Jenny Spell's ongoing medical care.)
First, a bit about Jenny: She is a sophomore at The King's Academy and the most spunky and witty sixteen-year-old on the planet. Somehow, if she could, she would find a way to make a joke about all of this and that would have our sides splitting. She loves to sing, dance, and act whether she's on a stage, in the living room, or even in the grocery store.
On October 7th, Jenny was rushed to the hospital with worsening flu-like symptoms and low respiratory and heart function. Soon after, she was flown directly to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care in Hollywood, FL. Her situation is critical, and she continues to rely on heart, lung, and dialysis machines in order to maintain her stability. She is however, improving slowly. Her doctors are wonderful and her support system has been immovable and powerful.
There are bright spots here and there. She will squeeze her Mom's finger and wiggle her toes to let us know she’s still fighting hard under all of the equipment. But this is only the beginning for sweet Jenny. There is a long road ahead for her recovery, and there are ways that everyone can help. With all of the inevitable bills associated with the intensive medical care, the Spell Family will be faced with a lot of financial stress. This is why this fund has been set up. Any donation that you make will go to Jenny’s family and her medical recovery.
The community that has been displayed through all of this has been incredible. The family of God is truly loving and powerful. Please continue to pray for our sweet student and friend and consider donating what you can.
Finally, here's Jenny’s favorite quote. It truly speaks to the amazing, God-fearing girl that she is. “The point is not to completely understand God but to worship Him. Let the very fact that you cannot know Him fully lead you to praise Him for His infiniteness.”
