BENEFITING: KARMA RESCUE INC
Karma Rescue visits our high-kill city shelters saving dogs to bring into our Adoption Program. As a non-profit with limited resources, we have to select dogs that are adoptable and that require the minimum amount of resources. But sometimes there are those very special ones that we cannot turn away from...
Prince was found roaming the streets of South LA when he was brought to the shelter. He was impounded with a big open mass on his back. It was infected and bleeding and he was very uncomfortable. While the Karma Rescue volunteers were on their shelter run to save some dogs, they met this lovely boy who was sweet as can be. There are so many young and healthy dogs in our city shelters and the volunteers knew Prince's chances of being rescued by the public were not good. Prince has now joined the Karma Rescue family. We took him to our veterinarian immediately to have him treated. The mass was removed and came back benign. After vet costs up to $1122.00, Prince is now all better and ready for his home.
Tanner came into the shelter with a severe skin condition knows as demodectic mange. Because of Tanner's amazing temperament, Karma Rescue used him to test other potential dog candidates at the shelter. We knew Tanner would be able to tolerate all different types of dogs personalities, and he was a superstar! Karma Rescue tests dogs at the shelter to make sure they are dog social. If our dog is not in foster care or at NKLA Adoption Center then they are temporarily housed in cage-free facilities until a foster is found or until they are adopted. It is important that they can be in play groups with multiple dogs. Karma Rescue could not leave Tanner behind at the shelter even though we know it will take time and money for his skin to heal. Treatment for mange can range from the hundreds into the thousands.
Karma Rescue is asking for your help. Please donate to the Prince and Tanner fundraising page to help us cover Prince's procedure and Tanner's ongoing skin care. Any amount helps Karma Rescue continue to save dogs like Prince and Tanner who just need a little bit extra to get them ready for their homes.
