CREATIVE LIVING FELLOWSHIP wrote -
One of the reasons men end up in prison is that they never have been told that they matter, that they are worthy, that they are loved, regardless of who they are or what they've done. Once men understand the concept that true power comes from within and that they can be respected for who they really are, miracles happen: inmates turn into better fathers, better husbands, better brothers - better men.
CLF's Prison Ministry started more than 15 years ago when Rev. Lonnie Whittington began corresponding with a death-row inmate who had written a letter to Creative Living Fellowship. By Rev. Lonnie simply acknowledging and communicating with a fellow human being, that inmate's life and those around him were transformed for the better. Now, Rev. Lonnie works with inmates across the country, who are, in turn, teaching their cellmates what it means to be free, even within the confines of the prison walls, and to be honest, productive and loved. The process can continue to grow.
With your help, we can continue to send books, teach classes and allow more inmates to feel this freedom. And, most importantly, your gifts will support them in being productive members of society upon their release . Please give generously.
"Growing up on the streets of Chicago taught me some hard lessons. But because of learning about personal responsibility through Science of Mind, I learned that most of my beliefs were just plain wrong. I have a few years to go in prison, but now the world makes more sense and I finally have respect for myself. Thank you." -Anthony
“Time in here has given me the unique opportunity to watch people. Because of the lessons of Ernest Holmes, I now look for signs in other people that connect one to another. Everyone have the same way in which they love, hate, argue, converse, drink, eat, play, laugh, cry, etc. They all have their own fingerprints, yet stand connected.”-Carl
"Because of these teachings (Science of Mind) men inside these walls are now becoming better husbands, better fathers, better brothers, better men." -Leo
