Produce Worship Songs Written by Marguerite Inscoe
Organized by: Marguerite Inscoe
Donate to help me, Marguerite Inscoe, produce five of the many worship songs I've written for church congreations and choirs the past two years. The final products, copywritten music and studio recordings will be made available at no charge for churches to use in their worship services. Background: Music has been a part of my life since I was a child. I play the clarinet in band and the piano at home. Singing was and still is something my family does whenever we get together. Starting at the age of 15, I participated with worship teams in church. Traditional hymns and songs from the Jesus movement in the 70s were part of my everyday life. Also, Christian contemporary music was just coming into it's own with artists and bands like Marnatha, Amy Grant, Petra, and Michael W Smith. For the past 1o years I've been an active member with a large multi-ethnic church in Hampton Roads called New Life. Participating in their worship and arts ministry increased my experience of music to include Urban Contemporary Gospel ("Black Gospel") and the latest in worship music from other churches and bands. About two years ago in church during a specific song service God spoked to me about writing worship music. I was rather surprised for a couple of reasons. First, I've never had a desire to write music. Second, I was dealing with some health challenges at the time that made it painful to sing at times. Still, I knew it was a clear call, and I did have enough experience musically to at least get started. For the next 12 months I wrote approximately a song a month. The melody, lyrics, and chord structure. During that time I frequently experienced considerable pain from immflamation in my throat and tounge, but it didn't stop me from documenting the music that was in my heart. In the past year my body and voice has recovered, and I'm still writing worship songs. Each is uniquely inspiried and composed. However, most these song currently exist as short vocal clips in my smartphone or as documents in my computer. I've shared with friends and family in get togethers and some social media, but now need to put them in a form to increase distribution. My vision is to produce the songs in a manner that make it easy for churches to hear and use.
