BENEFITING: Project Pac Inc
EVENT DATE: Apr 23, 2017
Two years ago I traveled to Guatemala with Project PAC to provide much needed medical services to rural communities surrounding Lake Atitlan. We evaluated and treated 667 patients in our short time there. This year our group will be traveling to a new underserved area near Huanchaco, Peru. We will be bringing all supplies with us, as well as vitamins, medications, and hygiene items.
Project PAC - Providing Access to Care is a non-profit campaign through Wagner College that organizes educational programs in local communities and coordinates medical mission trips to underserved areas. In April 2017 we will travel to Peru to educate patients, perform physical exams, prescribe and distribute medications, and draw blood to screen for HIV, anemia, and hyperlipidemia. The people in these areas have little or no access to medical care and basic medical supplies.
I currently work full time as a PA at Stony Brook Urology, and have many years experience as a PA in Primary Care. In order to help provide this much needed care, I will be responsible for paying for some of the medical supplies and the cost of travel. The total cost for each participant of this medical mission trip is $3100. I will be paying $2100 toward this expense and would appreciate any help you could provide to assist with the remaining cost. If any additional funds are raised, proceeds will go toward the medical mission and additional supplies. Thank you for your support!
