BENEFITING: TUESDAYS CHILDREN
EVENT DATE: Aug 01, 2010
Now in its third summer, Project Common Bond will take place at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with teenagers from the United States, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Argentina, Spain, Palestine, Israel, and Russia.
The core program of conflict resolution is being designed by Harvard University Law School Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program. Campers also participate in sports, field trips, adventure activities, arts, and music. But above all, campers say it's an opportunity to be with other kids who "get it" and to build lasting friendships.
Camp starts on August 1 and we still need final dollars to fund the program.
QUOTES FROM TEENAGERS WHO'VE PARTICIPATED:
“I told my story for the first time and feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders."
“I learned that I can relate to others- like I wasn’t alone. I also became able to speak about my experience.”
“I’ve become inspired by the people I’ve met and more motivated to make a difference. I’ve also felt a connection to every person.”
“I was able to connect with people from around the world and people who share the same experiences as me."
