THE STORY:

NEW LEASH ON LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION wrote -

Recently, after months of temperamental fritzing, the A/C system for New Leash On Life’s ranch house facility finally, utterly kicked the bucket.

Our staff was willing to take the hit - most are California natives, used to the broiling, triple-digit Summers and all-too-aloof Spring and Fall seasons this special state brings. Then we realized this would certainly still impact our licensed rescue dogs who spend most of their time in the house (said dogs usually have some form of medical condition or kennel stress that prevents them from being able to be housed in our main kennel).

We knew we had to spring into action to ensure their health and comfort, as well as that of the hundreds of dedicated volunteers of all ages who come up to the Ranch to help our staff with the daily procedures of running a rescue - a group of amazing individuals without whom we surely could not survive.

Since its founding in 1997, New Leash On Life Rescue has helped rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home over 5,000 abandoned dogs from both City and County shelters all across Southern California. Its devoted team of passionate staff members and volunteers have also been responsible for helping spay and neuter thousands of pets, as well as making a determined effort to continue to educate the community on responsible pet ownership.

The ultimate goal of our organization is to eventually build a comprehensive network to help all animals in need, even those not in our immediate area. By partnering with other great animal welfare organizations such as Best Friends Animal Society, we are slowly but surely helping bring this world ever-closer to the goals of the no-kill movement.

With your support, we can continue to do this, and save the lives of hundreds of thousands of dogs who would otherwise be left to an unknown fate in the shelter system.

Replacing one A/C unit may not save the world, but it WILL help ensure those who CAN go out and make a difference for abandoned, neglected animals - our staff and volunteers - are able to continue to care for our rescued animals as best we can.
