BENEFITING: PROJECT EDUCATION INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 24, 2010
Here’s the story: I am reaching out to all of you to help me raise funds for an incredible charity called PROJECT EDUCATION in Kenya.
The first version of my story had a lot about my own personal journey for running another marathon BUT what is REALLY much more important is that I am running because I was inspired to raise much needed funds for a great community in Kenya that will truly benefit from ANY amount that you might be able to give when I heard about the success and difference this charity has made to a small community.
On October 24th I will run the Venice marathon with the goal of raising £4000 (about $6250) for PROJECT EDUCATION.
My promise - I will DEFINITELY finish the marathon and I hope to do it in less than 4:15!
So, please read below to learn more about Project Education as well as visit their website.
Then, PLEASE DONATE and SPREAD the word!!! - Every bit of your donation will go to the charity (as I registered for the marathon myself)!
Thank you in advance for your support and a special thanks to my husband Michel, my children Francesco and Matteo, and my parents for their love and patience throughout all my training!
PS - Even though donations are US$ denominated, you can donate NO matter where you are in the WORLD using use your credit card!
Project Education Inc. develops water sources, crop support and domestic businesses that provide income and employment for students, parents and community members in Kenya. Project Education is different because…‘We truly want to work ourselves out of a job!’ www.peikenya.org
Building for Tomorrow, Today - The activities we undertake today in Kenya are measured against sound business models of efficiency and effectiveness that will stand the test of time. Our goal is to have the success of PEI benefit generations to come.
Educating The Child As A Whole - Working with the parents and the community, we tend to the overall physical health and well-being of our students so each child can reach their fullest potential. Working towards sustained healing not short-term solutions.
Understanding Local Cultures And Needs - Our success, as a cross-cultural organization, is based on trust developed through hands-on work in partnership with the community. We respect local culture, as we use self-sufficient educational and business models that can be replicated in any region of the world
