BENEFITING: Somaly Mam Foundation
Human trafficking is a 12 billion dollar industry and the fastest growing organized crime in the world. Young girls and women are raped, tortured, starved, and sometimes made to service as many as 30 men a day.
Somaly Mam was sold into sexual slavery at the age of 12. She was subjected to a life of torture and rape. Years later she was able to escape, and vowed to rescue other young girls and women who have been forced into sexual slavery.
The Somaly Mam Foundation is an organization that fights human trafficking around the world. The organization supports the rescue and rehabilitation of women and girls who are enslaved. Somaly Mam gives these women hope for a brighter future.
