EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Hello everyone -
I began running "long" distance in 2008 with the Falmouth road race at a whopping 7 miles. I always thought that Falmouth would be the longest distance I would or could run, and that running a marathon would be ludicrous. Ever since I witnessed the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, I knew that one year I would need to run the Boston Marathon for a great charity that does invaluable work within the Boston community.
That opportunity has come with Project Hope. I'm excited to partner with them to raise money for such a great cause and to complete such an important life-time goal. I'll be training with two of my closest friends from Bentley University, Mike Cully (left in the picture) and Jer Krafchin (center in the picture). We look forward to the challenge ahead of us over the next few months and the ultimate challenge on Patriot's day knowing that the dedication and effort we will be putting forth is going to such an amazing cause.
Below is some information on Project hope. Thank you to everyone that has donated to Project Hope and supporting this goal for me.
At Project Hope, we help families believe in their own possibilities and to break through the barriers that keep them poor. Our running team symbolizes the struggles of our families with their hard work, dedication and commitment to reaching the finish line. Their journey of 26.2 miles, and all the months of training leading up to it, gives us the opportunity to raise vital funds by connecting to new sources of support. Thank you for supporting our team. Your support directly impacts homeless families in Boston.
