BENEFITING: Project Hope
ORGANIZER: Project Hope
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I began running in earnest in 2006. I was encouraged by a wonderful group of friends whom I raced with on a Ragnar Relay Team. After that experience I was hooked. Running gives me a chance to be alone with my thoughts, problems, and happiness. I find peace in my running and love being outdoors, especially for those long runs! Running also allows me a few scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream free of guilt.
To me, the Boston Marathon is the premier marathon in the world. Running in the Boston Marathon is a dream come true for me. What better a way for me to give back to the city of Boston than to help raise funds for a local charity which benefits the people of this great city? I believe that we are measured in life by what we do and also by what we give back to those around us. Running with the Project Hope Team is a win-win…for me in running and for those in need whom I will be helping through my fundraising.
At Project Hope we help families believe in their own possibilities and to break through the barriers in their lives. Our running team symbolizes the struggles of our families with their hard work, dedication and commitment to reaching the finish line. Their journey of 26.2 miles, and all the months of training leading up to it, gives us the opportunity to raise vital funds by connecting to new sources of support. Thank you for supporting our team! Your support directly benefits homeless families in Boston.
