BENEFITING: FENCING IN THE SCHOOLS INC
We are raising money to bring hope and joy to children with cancer at local Children's Hospitals by bringing them foam fencing swords delivered by members of the US Olympic fencing team. Help us raise $356 in the next 24 hours!
We have a $356 dollar challenge donation made by all the members of the US Fencing Board of Directors and we hope to match that amount to purchase over 300 foam swords. (they retail for $2 so each $2 donation provides a sword for a child with cancer) We will deliver the foam swords to children during the Milwakee NAC!
Children LOVE the foam swords and even if they are unable to get out of bed they are able to play with them and "duel" their parents, siblings or friends visiting them at the hospital.
All donations will go directly to purchase and deliver foam swords to children. So, the more we raise, the more swords and joy we will deliver!
This fundraising initiative is dedicated to Lea Feldman, a 15 year old epee fencer who is currently battling Leukemia at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Lea is a fencer with the Wallingford-Swarthmore Panthers (Pixie Roane is her coach). She's only a U, but she loves fencing with a passion. As she has been bravely battling cancer and going through chemotherapy, her love for the sport has been the one thing that has continued to bring her joy.
