Project iSWEST (Innovating Solutions with Engineering, Science and Technology) is an annual summer program in Ghana organized by Nsesa Foundation. It’s primary aim is to get high school students solving problems by inspiring them to be creative, equipping them with the requisite tools, soft and hard – basic science, engineering and technology (SET) – skills, while coaching them to develop innovative solutions to problems in their communities.

Project ISWEST 2015 is a solution-focused, 3-week workshop for 30 high school students in Ghana. It is our goal to attract at least 15 girls to this workshop in line with our mission of getting more female participation in STEM. The 30 participants will form 6 teams each consisting of 5 members to work on their respective projects. Each group will choose to work on a project from these 5 categories:

i. Agriculture
ii. E-commerce
iii. Education
iv. Energy
v. Transportation

Each group will receive active coaching through the innovation process - problem identification, solution building, prototyping, and business plan development and project deployment.

$30: Your donation of $30 will provide free daily lunch for one participant for the entire duration of the workshop.

$100: Your donation of $100 will cover problem identification and market survey for each team.

$500: Your donation of $500 will enable a team to build a minimum viable product/prototype.

$1,000: Your donation of $1000 will provide basic electronic components and software packages to support active product development by all teams. $3,000: Your donation of $3,000 will cover the procurement of a 3D printer to support full prototyping by all participating teams. The 3D printer will be available all year long for use in one of Nsesa Foundation's ISWEST Labs after Project ISWEST 2015 is over.
