I will be competing in my first Chicago Marathon this fall, and while I was lucky enough to score a bib though the lottery, I plan on using one of the world's biggest and most famous marathons to help raise money and awarness for Project Purple.
Project Purple is working to help find a cure for Pancreative cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths and is projected to be the 2nd by 2020.
In spite of these deadly statistics, however, it is the least funded of the top 10 cancer killers, and the only one on the top ten list with a single digit survival rate after 5 years.
It is obvious that more needs to be done to help improve pancreatic cancer surival rates . Please considering making a donation to my Chicago Marathon efforts so Project Purple can conintue their great work torwards finding a cure!
