Dear Friends and Family,
We are so excited to be running the 2016 Chicago Marathon on behalf of Project Purple!
Our mini-team consists of the following runners- Maggie Mulchrone, Maureen Mulchrone, Katie Cunningham, Amber Stack, Carolyn Tysse, Kate Tysse, and Taylor Bennett
Project Purple is 501(c)(3) not for profit organization with a mission of raising awareness and funds towards a cure for pancreatic cancer. Sadly the statistics are staggering. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th largest killer of all cancer killers and the least funded of the top 10 cancers. It is also the only cancer on the top 10 list with a single digit survival rate after 5 years.
Pancreatic cancer means a lot to us because we lost our loved one- Judy Mulchrone in December 2015 after a year long battle with this terrible disease. Her daughters Maggie and Maureen have asked their old college teammates and grade school classmate to help raise money in honor of Judy. All avid runners, we know we can make Judy proud by crossing the finish line and raising money for such an important cause!!!
We appreciate your support in our fundraising efforts and welcome anyone to attend the marathon and cheer us on in our purple shirts!
Team supporters- John, Marty, Brian, Traci, and Michelle (Maggie and Maureen's brothers and sister-in-laws), Joe DiMartino (Maggie's fiancé :) ), Danelle Woods, Sarah Bedell, Chantelle Groenewoud and anyone else who helps share our page!
