BENEFITING: PROJECT PURPLE
ORGANIZER: PROJECT PURPLE
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
I have thought about running a marathon for the last 10 years and have finally committed to making this dream a reality. The NYC Marathon experience is one of the best out there and to run for Project Purple makes it even more meaningful.
Pancreatic cancer has affected my clients, my friends and my family. It is sometimes called a "silent" disease because symptoms are rarely present in the early stages. We recently had a friend diagnosed at age 49 and given 6-12 months to live. She is a brave, strong women and has fought everyday for the last 18 months. Her fight has inspired me to be better, give thanks, tell people I love them and pursue new challenges. The challenge of 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what people have to endure because of pancreatic cancer. I hope that the money we raise helps to find a cure and finally puts an end to this awful disease.
Thank you for your support and donations. I am motivated by the kind words and notes thus far and can't wait for November 6th!
