As many of you know, my husband Kevin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2016. This year pancreatic cancer surpassed breast cancer and became the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Despite the increase in deaths from this disease, pancreatic cancer research remains severely underfunded. It is more important than ever to work hard towards reversing this trend.
Kevin is truly one of the strongest people I know. He battles this horrible disease every day with grace, dignity and a fierce passion for life. Kevin is my biggest supporter and has always encouraged me to follow my dreams and achieve my goals. For as far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to run a full marathon so I’m honored to be running the 2017 NYC marathon to raise money for Project Purple.
Project Purple’s mission is to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and to improve the lives of patients living with this disease through support, hope and compassion. All money raised for Project Purple provides awareness and funding for critical pancreatic cancer research.
Please support Project Purple by supporting my fundraising efforts as part of the Project Purple Team in the 2017 NYC marathon.
