You have cancer. Words no one ever wants to hear.
You have pancreatic cancer. Words you definitely never want to hear.
Over the past two and a half years I’ve lost two friends to pancreatic cancer. Their names are Dan Hughes [Hughes Tough] and Dr. Anthony Bianchi [Bianchi Strong].
Dan supplied me with all of the inks and chemicals we use at Artdog for our screen printing process, but more than that - he was a great friend. We’d talk about business, our kids, employees and just how tough small business can be. We also ran together a few times. Raised a beer or two and had several good laughs. Dan, was, and will always be, a really great guy.
Dr. Anthony Bianchi was my chiropractor for several years, we were classmates and we played baseball together as kids. Tony worked on getting my back aligned for years - always accommodating early morning appointments, and he had an uncanny ability to “fit me in” whenever I needed an adjustment. He didn’t always just adjust my back - but my attitude and perspective on life. We too, would discuss business and how challenging it is.
These two great guys were taken from us much too soon. In an effort to honor both, Dan and Tony, I was lucky enough to have been awarded an entry into the NYC Marathon running for Project Purple. Project Purple is a pancreatic cancer research fund to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Along with my race entry, comes the task of fundraising. I’ve been asked to raise a minimum of $3500 by October 30th. I am hoping I can do better than that - so here is my ask for Bianchi Strong and Hughes Tough!
- If you can donate - please go to crowdrise and my account and donate.
- If you know of any businesses, corporations that can make a donation have them call me. 716-200-2342.
